Getting started
From installer to a set playing, with nothing to configure in between.
1. Install
The Windows installer is about 150 MB. There is nothing to set up first and no command line. The first time you open it, the app brings down the rest of the engine once, roughly 1.5 GB, with a progress display. If your machine has a graphics card Mixterio can use, it offers a speed pack of about 2.5 GB. Turning that down costs you time and nothing else.
2. Point it at a folder
Choose a folder of audio files you own. Mixterio reads the audio itself and does not trust existing tags, so a wrong key or BPM written by another tool cannot leak into a set. Analysis is one pass per file and is cached, so it never runs twice on the same track.
A 20-track folder is analysed in under 15 min on a laptop with no graphics card. Bigger libraries take proportionally longer, and the app stays usable the whole time.
The free tier covers one folder of up to 100 analyzed tracks and unlimited sessions of up to 60 minutes each, with the full engine and every quality gate. Tiers.
3. Read the quarantine list
Some tracks come back with a beat grid the analyzer does not trust, usually free-tempo or rubato material. Those are quarantined rather than quietly used, because an untrusted grid is how a set ends up warped to half tempo in front of a room. They are listed with the reason, and they stay out of planning until you deal with them.
4. Play
You do not have to wait for your whole library to be mapped before you play. Mixterio composes a set straight away, held to the same quality gates that carried a real gig. How much of your collection has been properly measured grows every night, from spare time and from ordinary use.
A set runs at one locked tempo, taken from the opening track unless you set it yourself. A track plays once per session. If the app dies mid-set, it offers to resume from where the room stopped.
